LDN SUPPORT SLOT CANCELLED

Sorry to all of you went along to the gig expecting to see LDN play with these guys, but the Cathouse Cancelled the support slot on the day of the gig and I know we couldn't get in touch with everyone to let you all know. Reports from the night are that, LDN were not the only band cursing the Cathouse on that Tuesday, though.

LDN PLAY EMERGENZA BATTLE OF THE BANDS - take 2

Thanks to a cancellation LDN got to audition again for the Emergenza Festival. Due to the short notice of the gig we didn't get to advertise properly and so there wasn't a huge turn out of LDN fans, but thanks to all of you did come. With only one band bringing a significant number of fans it was obvious that they were going to play the Barfly in the next round. LDN put on a fantastic show to also secure themselves a next round spot. Next round though we'll have to make sure that all of you fans come out and support the band so that we don't lose out in the Battle of the Fans.

Thursday 4th March 2004

LDN played a great set in a night that was plagued by technical glitches. Although they handled mics cutting out mid sentence and the unpredictable guitar levels, the performance wasn't enough to secure them a place in the next round.

LDN HEADLINE FEBWORTH

The Saturday night of Cumbria's Febworth Festival kicked with a great duo called Scum Bananer. Intrigue was immediate as the drummer started to play, with no-one else in sight, the music starts and from the back of the venue strides in the bass player, right through the puzzled crowd. Expecting more to the follow the crowd were still unsure of what was going on, but the pair launched into their first number and before too long everyone knew that what this band lacked in numbers they more than made up for in talent and energy. Every song was packed with energy, humour and fruit. LDN picked up were they had left off and the night powered on. A few new songs were even introduced not that the unfamiliar crowd would have noticed. Atreides rounded the night off in their true rock 'n' roll style finishing with a drum solo and extended version of a Led Zeppelin classic. If you missed this then you missed a real belter of a night.

LDN HEADLINE WISEGUYS NIGHT

"Rounding off the evening was LDN. Here was a band that had been touched by Midas. They had the showmanship, the accomplished playing, the look and the songs. It was clear by the audience reaction, who went for it during their set, that LDN were what made a good gig great. Their metal numbers showed experience beyond what their reputation implies and they demonstrated exactly what this night was about; a local promoter having the guts to go out and book some encouraging talent and everyone having a ball."
Gregg McDonnell (The Telegraph)

LDN PLAY EDINBURGH'S COMMPLEX

LDN's first venture to our fair capital went well. The band played an excellent set, the best to date. The crowd, however on this open mic night weren't quite ready for the power and energy of the band. This being a last minute arrangement the band didn't really have enough time to let you all know about this gig and so used it to showcase their talent's to future bookers. The club owner's were suitably impressed and have invited LDN back to Edinburgh. Details to be confirmed. Full Moon promoter Fritz Van Helsing commented after the show:

"If this is the talent that Glasgow has to offer, then how the hell did Travis get signed?"

LDN PLAY FURY MURRY'S

The Starsuckers opened what was to be LDN's first major outing in their home town of Glasgow. Another female fronted band very reminiscent of Hole warmed up the crowd well. Anavris followed up with and energetic performance that kept the crowd rocking. LDN's first full length show had the crowd dancing right from the start of the set. The band looked like they enjoyed performing to the larger crowd, who seemed to respond well to the energy from the band.
