LDN
The Biography
LDN is a female fronted metal/punk outfit based in Glasgow, Scotland. Their sound is an eclectic mix taken from old school punk from bands like The Dead Kennedy's and Blondie to the breakneck tempo shifts and influences of today's metal sound.
Following the recording of their latest demo EP "Life, Death, Nothing", LDN is now confident that the new CD is more representative of the sound it is trying to achieve. The band has been working hard in the promotion of the music throughout the UK, gigging solidly for the past few months, which has enabled them to hone their live sound and dynamic stage presence.
The Telegraph recently said:
"Here was a band that had been touched by Midas. They had the showmanship, the accomplished playing, the look and the songs. It was clear by the audience reaction that LDN were what made a good gig great."
The band was formed in 2003 as the brainchild of bassist Craig and vocalist Linda. Craig has been in a number of bands over the years but was looking to create a group with a sound that would break the mould in today's metal scene. Linda studied classical music at an early age, winning awards for her performances of Scottish music but dreamed of following in the footsteps of female music idols such as Debbie Harry and Shirley Manson. Drummer Matty's talent and drive quickly secured a place within LDN and he relocated from the Isle and Arran to focus on his career in the band.
The band plans to self-release "Life, Death, Nothing" in local record stores due to the demand of their fans and will continue to seek a distribution deal. Also in production is a live DVD, which should be completed shortly, allowing a wider audience to experience this dynamic band.
LDN has a number of gigs lined up over the next few months and plan to take their sound throughout the UK and Europe with a tour to Germany planned for the late Summer, continuing to build on an already solid fan base.
